Hosted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) of the People’s Republic of China, the United Nations Environment Programme and European Commission, the Global Sustainable Consumption Conference and the Expert Workshops on Green Procurement and Eco-labelling were organised by the Environmental Development Centre and Environmental Certification Centre of the MEP in Beijing on 10-12 June 2008.　　As an active promoter for eco-labelling and green purchasing in Hong Kong, the Green Council participated the Global Sustainable Consumption Conference and Workshops on Green Procurement and Eco-labelling.

Hundreds of domestic and foreign organisations representatives attended the conference and workshops in order to discuss and share the experiences on the topics related to sustainable consumption, eco-labelling, green trade, green and sustainable procurement.
